Call for abstracts
The Seventh EDCTP Forum Programme Committee welcomes submission of abstracts with innovative and ground breaking contributions in the field of clinical research and related disciplines within the scope of EDCTP. Scientists involved in EDCTP-funded projects in particular are encouraged to use this opportunity to share new developments and results from their projects. All selected abstracts will be published in the Seventh EDCTP Forum book which will be distributed to all delegates during the event, and in an international peer review journal after the forum.
Abstracts can be submitted in the following categories:
- Interactions of neglected infectious diseases with HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria
- Cross-cutting issues (including capacity development, networking, ethics & regulatory affairs, clinical trials registration, and research and policy interphase).
The deadline for abstract submission is 31 May 2013. Please visit the Abstract submission page on the Forum website for more information, guidelines and abstract template.
A limited number of individuals from sub-Saharan African countries, and where justified from Europe, will be sponsored by EDCTP to attend the Seventh Forum. The selection will be based on the applicant’s ability to present good-quality research in the development of new or improved drugs, vaccines, microbicides and diagnostics against HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria; or in other cross-cutting issues related to clinical trials in Africa.
The deadline for a scholarship application is 31 May 2013. Please visit the Scholarships page on the Forum website for more information, guidelines and abstract template.
The Seventh Forum programme at a glance is available on the Forum website. The programme will include speakers from the scientific, policy, ethics and regulatory as well as political fields. The focus will be on advances in research, capacity development, networking and agenda setting for clinical research on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Priority will be given to EDCTP-funded projects to share their results.
The biennial EDCTP Forum provides an international platform for the presentation and discussion of frontier research for everyone involved in combating the three main poverty-related diseases (HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria) and the appropriate capacity development and networking activities. The Forum has established itself as a valuable opportunity to establish and reinforce cooperation and synergy among EDCTP stakeholders at various levels including scientific, policy, funding and political interactions.
