PhD-program opportunities at LMU

EDCTP 2003-2009 Internal Assessment

In July 2009, EDCTP commissioned the Swiss Centre for International Health at the Swiss Tropical Institute to undertake an internal assessment of the EDCTP programme covering the period from its inception in 2003 to 2009. The goal of the assessment was to gauge the progress that EDCTP had made by the end of 2009 and to collect views on the future direction.

Changes in EDCTP governance: North-North networking

From 1 January 2010, EDCTP governance of North-North networking will change. Until 31 December 2010, European Networking Officers (ENOs) were in charge of these activities, and they were united in the European Network of National Programmes (ENNP). This Network of representatives of the European national programmes developed proposals to coordinate and join national research activities and funding.

African clinical trials get a boost from Networks of Excellence (Nature Medicine)

The year 2010 is taking off very well as the EDCTP-funded Networks of Excellence for Western, Eastern, Central and Southern Africa all have their contracts signed. This means that every sub-Saharan African region has its own network for enhancing the infrastructure and know-how to conduct clinical trials on infectious diseases.
