Christian Geib was born in Caracas, Venezuela and holds German citizenship. He obtained his Bachelor of Law (LLB) at the universities of Bremen, Oldenburg and Groningen. Further stations of his university studies included the University of Tübingen and the Catholic University of Santiago de Chile. During and following the studies he has worked at the German Parliament, the Ministry of Defense, in banking, a transportation law firm and in the management of a major retail company.
