Dr Michael Makanga is a Ugandan national and a medical doctor with a Masters Degree and PhD in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He has practical experience in conducting and monitoring clinical trial activities involving Good Manufacturing, Clinical and Laboratory Practices. As Capacity Development Manager, he is responsible for the coordination of EDCTP activities related to clinical trial capacity in Africa, including site assessments, training activities at different levels, upgrading of clinical trial sites, as well as ethical and regulatory capacity strengthening activities.
