EDCTP supports organisations that carry out ethics training in Africa. Also, EDCTP promotes the establishment and strengthening of National Ethical Committees (NECs) through the EDCTP Africa Office. The NECs are encouraged to create their own regulatory bodies without necessarily receiving funding from EDCTP for continued activity.
