On 17-19 November, the Global Ministerial Forum on Research for Health Bamako 2008 will bring together around 600 high-level stakeholders involved in improving health of poor people. EDCTP contributes to various sessions on the Tuesday, and invites all Forum participants to visit the EDCTP stand in the Bamako 2008 Research Showcase to share ideas and explore collaborations. The EDCTP October 2008 Newsletter has been sent out and is now also available on the website. In this issue of the newsletter, the first announcement of the Fifth EDCTP Forum is included. On 13 and 14 November 2008, the European Commission (DG Research) brings together a large number of stakeholders in an International Conference on Poverty-Related Diseases (PRDs): Challenges for the Future - Research on HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. The conference aims to increase the impact of EU-funded research on controlling PRDs. Read more »

The Fifth EDCTP Forum will take place in Arusha, Tanzania from 12 to 14 October 2009. The theme of the Forum is Fighting HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria: One World, One Partnership, and it will focus on the outcome and progress of EDCTP funding efforts in research and capacity strengthening activities in sub-Saharan Africa.
