The Partnership Board (PB) is an advisory panel of independent scientific experts from Europe and Africa. The membership of the PB is approved by the EEIG-General Assembly. PB members usually serve for three years, and additional members may be co-opted to provide specific expertise, on a case by case basis. Working with the Secretariat, the PB develops the strategic framework for EDCTP and advises the Assembly on technical and scientific matters relating to the EDCTP programme. The PB prepares proposals and recommendations that are submitted via the Secretariat to the Assembly, specifically with regard to:
- Strategic needs and priorities for new clinical interventions, training and capacity building
- Calls for Proposals and other procedures for implementing plans of action
- Criteria and procedures for peer review
- Annual work plans, including the planned Calls for Proposals for the year
- Funding recommendations and priority lists of projects from the Calls for Proposals.
