The Executive Secretariat conducts the day-to-day activities of the EEIG from its Europe Office in The Hague, the Netherlands, and its Africa Office in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Europe Office has the following principal functions:

• Serves as the main administrative, legal and financial centre serving EDCTP as a whole
• Is the focal point of EDCTP, with a key role in promoting member state coordination and integration
• Liaises with the EC
• Organises meetings of EDCTP constituencies
• Provides support to the General Assembly, national points of contact, and PB
• Launches Calls for Proposals and manages the review of proposals
• Liaises with grantees over new grants
• Monitors and evaluates  EDCTP supported projects
• Serves as the focal point for advocacy and collaborative activities.

The Africa Office has the following principal functions:

• Is the focal point for EDCTP in Africa, with a key role in promoting South-South networking activities
• Coordinates and manages the  capacity building activities
• Participates in preparing calls, advertisements, announcements of clinical trials
• Participates in the Secretariat’s activities related to the start of EDCTP supported trials and to follow-up clinical trials in Africa
• Coordinates site visit activities in Africa
• Provides support for the DCCC
• Serves as a regional base for the EDCTP High Representative
• Serves as the focal point for communication and advocacy especially in Africa.
