Transport in Sweden

BUSES

Stockholm’s public transport system covers the entire Stockholm region. The Stockholm Card or SL’s Tourist Card entitles you to unlimited travel on public transport in and around Stockholm. Airport buses depart from the City Terminal in central Stockholm every 5 or 15 minutes and take you to Arlanda airport in 35 minutes, or vice versa. A one way ticket costs SEK 95. You can buy tickets from the Flygbussarna Ticket stand in the Cityterminal, ticket machines in the Cityterminal, on board the bus, or at the Luftfartsverket Information Desks located in all the terminals at Arlanda airport. You can find more information at this website: www.flygbussarna.se.

The airport bus to and from Bromma airport connects with flight arrivals and departures, with single ticket costing SEK 60. Bromma Airport is approximately a 15-minute drive from the City Terminal in the heart of Stockholm, but the drive may take longer depending on the traffic situation.

TRAINS

Stockholm’s central station is located in the city centre. There are connections to the underground, buses, local trains, airport buses and the Arlanda Express. The Arlanda Express train between the airport and the city centre departs every 15 minutes and takes 20 minutes. The price for the train is SEK 200 for a one way journey, or SEK 380, for a return ticket, which is valid for a month after the initial journey. At Arlanda Airport you can purchase your tickets and travel cards in the LFV (Swedish Civil Aviation Administration) ticket office at terminals 2, 4 and 5, or on the train for an additional charge of SEK 50.  (Just over 5 euros) You can find more information on this website: www.arlandaexpress.com.
