Burkina Faso Visa Applications

  •  If there is an embassy of Burkina Faso in your home country, you should obtain your visa before departure. You can request and fill in the visa application form at the embassy before your trip, for this you will need 2 passport photos and a certificate of vaccination against yellow fever.

There are embassies in:
South Africa, Algeria, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Denmark, Egypt, USA, Ethiopia, France, Ghana, India, Italy, Japan, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Switzerland, Tunisia and Germany.

For addresses and contact details of these embassies visit http://www.mae.gov.bf/SiteMae/ministere/sg/ambassades.html

This site is in French, but can be translated on http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr

  • If there is not an embassy of Burkina Faso in your country, you can send a copy of the first 2 pages of your passport (personal details and issuance information) to EDCTP who will apply for a pre-visa clearance on your behalf. When you get to the airport at Burkina Faso you can hand in your certificate of vaccination against yellow fever, your passport photos and your fee, and they will arrange the visa within 48 hours for you.

We do recommend that if you have an embassy in your country that you arrange your own visa in advance to avoid potential problems upon departure from your home country or upon arrival in Burkina Faso.
