On Tuesday night, Forum delegates were treated to an exciting entertainment programme offered by the Forum’s local host, the National Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) of Tanzania. The dancers of the JKT/JWTZ Group took the attention of the delegates off their plates and onto the dance floor, and most likely inspired some of the dancing moves exercised directly after dinner.
The November issue of the journal Tropical Medicine & International Health includes an editorial entitled EDCTP: a genuine north-south partnership. The editorial describes EDCTP’s approach to strengthening clinical trial capacity in sub-Saharan Africa, including an overview of achievements to date and a look into the future. Representatives of 11 African clinical trial sites and 3 European Universities, representatives of EDCTP, and pharmaceutical industry met for a kick-off of this new Consortium. Intensive and constructive discussions were held on the science, the governance, the timelines and the capacity development aspects of the sites.
