Ana Lúcia Weinberg, née Cardoso, joined EDCTP in 2012 with the task to facilitate coordination and integration of European Union Member States’ research programmes, and create and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders. She is a Strategic Partnerships Officer.
Before joining EDCTP she worked as Programme Adviser, and Training and Communications Coordinator for the European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG), a community-based organisation in Brussels advocating for access to HIV treatment. Prior to moving to Belgium, she worked in the University of Tartu, Estonia, where she conducted research on EU affairs, human rights and globalisation.
Born in Portugal, she graduated from the University of Lisbon in European Studies and completed postgraduate studies in International Management with a focus on management of health systems. Ana Lucia is currently pursuing a PhD in International Health with the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (IHMT), Nova University of Lisbon.
