This project is a continuation of the Ethiopian Bioethics Initiative (ETBIN’s) supported by EDCTP towards establishing and strengthening Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) in Ethiopia. The project will assist the formation of new IRBs and build their capacity. It will train new members and monitor and provide professional support to the IRBs formed through the previous EDCTP supported ETBIN project. An ethic booklet originally written in Amharic will be translated into at least two additional Ethiopian languages to create a broader awareness. In addition, the ETBIN office will be strengthened to enable it to manage projects, and develop and sutain an effective network of IRBs.
