Michelle joined EDCTP in December 2015 as a Project Officer. Prior to joining EDCTP, Michelle worked as a Vector Control Specialist with the NGO Malaria Consortium in Uganda where she provided technical support to vector control related activities and operational research projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
Michelle has over 10 years of research experience in the field of medical entomology. She obtained a Master’s in Biology and PhD in Medical Entomology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands before conducting her post-doctoral studies at Cornell University in the USA. Her research focussed on the reproductive biology of disease transmitting mosquitoes and the feasibility of applying the Sterile Insect Technique for the control of African malaria vectors.
