Andiswa Zitho joined EDCTP as a Project Officer on a secondment contract, in December 2021. As a Project Officer, she manages EU funded projects which are mainly Career Development Fellowship (CDF) and Industrial Fellowship grants. Prior to joining EDCTP, she has been working at the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) as a Project Coordinator. She is responsible for coordinating the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials’ Partnership (EDCTP) program for South Africa as a Member State. Her responsibilities also include building and maintaining stakeholder engagement, and monitoring projects that are funded and co-funded by EDCTP, the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) and SAMRC. Her other experiences include managing a national research study looking at the quality and availability of routine health information systems in public hospitals.
Andiswa holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the Nelson Mandela University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Cape Town.
