Dr Elodie Ekoka joined EDCTP in November 2021 as a Research administration fellow. In this role, she manages multiple EU-funded projects in Africa that involve clinical trials for drugs/vaccines or the development of capacity building. In addition, she also works on building and maintaining stakeholder engagement, and monitoring projects that are funded and co-funded by EDCTP.
Besides working for EDCTP, Elodie is an accomplished scientist and author. As a scientist, she holds a PhD in Medical Entomology from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) and has spent a year conducting research at the prestigious Harvard University in Prof Flaminia Catteruccia’s laboratory. She has received more than 14 awards for her work in the malaria field, and holds certificates in epidemiology and malaria research. As an author, Elodie has published an e-book entitled “Dear Woman In STEM” in order to give advice to and encourage women who work in STEM fields.
