Madagascar joins the EDCTP Association
The EDCTP Association is pleased to announce that Madagascar has become its newest member country, bringing the total number of African member countries to 33. The General Assembly of the EDCTP Association formally approved Madagascar as a member on 10 March 2026, further strengthening regional collaboration in global health research.
As a member, Madagascar is now eligible to receive funding from the Global Health EDCTP3 programme and can contribute to the programme’s strategic direction.
Madagascar will be represented at the EDCTP Association General Assembly by Dr Voahangy Rasolofo Razanamparany of the Pasteur Network and Professor Luc Samison of the Centre d’Infectiologie Mérieux.
“Madagascar stands to gain significantly from its membership in the EDCTP Association; this represents a great opportunity to strengthen national capacity for clinical research and clinical trials by reinforcing its healthcare and research forces. By developing strategic partnerships with other members of the Association, Madagascar has the potential to become a key player in developing innovative solutions for tackling infectious diseases across Africa, and will be glad to contribute to the success of the Global Health EDCTP3 programme.”
